Tropical Sunset, Mauritius (2019)

Being in the tropics, the sun sets in Mauritius at about the same time every day (around 6pm).  With the clear air and the vast ocean on the horizon, the sunsets are vivid and spectacular.  In turn, the light up the coast with bright yellows and oranges.  Each evening, it is common to see families head to the beach to watch sunset together. This painting was inspired by Angela’s visit to Mauritius in 2019 with her family, to visit the home of her Grandfather. A little of Mauritius has always been part of Angela but she certainly left a bit of her heart behind.  The colours of Mauritius certainly matched her love of the use of bright and bold paints.

The canvas board has been framed in a simple black wooden frame and is ready to hang.
