Porthminster Beach in Winter (2017)
Porthminster Beach in Winter (2017)
Acrylic on canvas board unframed. 20x16 inch.
The scene captured is of Porthminster Beach on a day in November. The view of the beach is from the foot of the cliffs by the Pedn Olva, where at low tide you can access the beach too. On this day though, rather than the calm beach that most would recognise in the summer, the sea was stormy, carving away at the beach and making the perfect playground for some intrepid surfers.
The nature of this particular canvas board means that it can be framed in a traditional way, with the loss of a few mm around all edges. The frame would flatten the slight curve of the canvas board. It wouldn’t be suitable in a floating frame because of the way the board has been made.
All attempts have been made to photograph the artwork and give as true a colour match to the original as possible. However, this could vary depending on screen settings and the device used when viewing the work online.
