Originally painted in 2022, this still life from a royalty free image marked the beginning of a shift in my work—from replicating scenes to exploring mark-making. I wanted to capture the essence of what I saw, rather than create an exact copy.

 

It’s a journey I’m still on, and I’m so glad I took that first step. Looking back at these early pieces, I feel proud of the confidence it took to move beyond my comfort zone.
