Tide’s out, St Ives

There is nowhere quite like St Ives.  It very much is still a working fish harbour but when the tide’s out the very same space becomes a place of sandcastles, colourful tents and picnics.  This painting captures the tide being out, the boats being marooned and  left at a jaunty angle by the retreating sea, and the day’s holiday makers exploring and adventuring.
