Wall lies just outside of Lichfield and is the site of an old Roman settlement which can be visited today.  Before the settlement was protected and restored by the National Trust and English Heritage, locals found the large sandstone blocks to be good for building their walls.  So as you walk around the village, look out for large blocks in some of the old walls.
