Smeaton’s pier

Keeping the storms away, Smeaton’s Pier wraps around the harbour in St Ives.  It’s a great place to watch the day-to-day workings of the harbour and to look back towards the town.  A view point at the end is a good place to look for seals.  The sea is so clear here that when the tide is in, boats can look like they are just floating about the sand.
This painting features the White House, probably the most instantly recognisable in St Ives.
