Looking out at the lighthouse, Carbis Bay

Godrevy Lighthouse is a recognisable landmark from all around St Ives Bay.  Virginia Wolfe stayed in St Ives with her family growing up and again in later life.  It is said that ‘To the lighthouse’ was inspired by Godrevy and the view from
St Ives.  
This painting was to capture the blues of the sea and the sky but the ever present Godrevy radiant in white off in the distance.
